This is taking place at the historic Gravenhurst Opera House—built 125 years ago by Miranda’s great-great-grandfather—making this a deeply personal homecoming. Saturday, August 22 — ⚠️ Peak Rain Risk (45–75%)

🎶 Summerfolk Peak Day (Leith/Owen Sound, all day) — All six stages in full swing. Workshops throughout the day, artisan village at capacity, and evening concerts under partially covered venues.

Location: Leith is on the shores of Georgian Bay, approximately 2–2.5 hours northwest of Toronto via Highway 401 West then Highway 6 or Highway 10 toward Owen Sound.

Best For: Waterfront experience, folk & roots music, family-friendly festival vibe. The beach at Kelso is stunning, with kayak rentals, splash pad, and sandy shoreline. Arrive early Friday to secure camping or soak in the Georgian Bay atmosphere.

Central Ontario Cluster: Gussapolooza (Cookstown)

Location: Cookstown is approximately 1 hour north of Toronto via Highway 400 or 27 toward Barrie. Georgian Bay Steam Show Grounds offer 48 acres of festival space.

Best For: Indie music lovers, camping enthusiasts, festival compound experience. The most affordable option with tent camping included in the $59.99 pass. Excellent for a full weekend immersion.

Muskoka Cluster: Muskoka Music Festival (Gravenhurst)

Location: Gravenhurst is approximately 2 hours north of Toronto via Highway 11. Historic downtown opera house is easily accessible, with ample parking at the venue and throughout town.

Best For: Intimate concert seekers, history lovers, one-night farewell experience. Many attendees make a full Muskoka weekend of it—stay overnight at a cottage, resort, or Airbnb and enjoy the lakes before or after the Aug 22 show. Rock Bar opens 6:30 PM, show starts 7:30 PM.

Full Circuit: All Three Festivals (Advanced)

Route Option: Friday—head to Summerfolk (Leith/Owen Sound) for the opening, 2.5 hours from Toronto. Saturday—drive southeast to Gussapolooza (Cookstown, ~2.5 hours from Owen Sound) for daytime & evening, OR attend Muskoka Music Festival farewell in Gravenhurst (~1.5 hours east of Cookstown) at 7:30 PM. Sunday—catch Gussapolooza or Summerfolk closing.

Realistic Plan: Pick your primary festival (Summerfolk for folk, Gussapolooza for camping/indie, Muskoka for intimate farewell) and make that your anchor. Each is unique enough to deserve a full weekend commitment.
